What up Yard?

Sorry it's been so long since my last blog. I'm glad to sign my deal and glad to still be a Charger. Now just getting ready for the season. Mini camp started today and the team is ready to get this thing rolling. I'll catch you up more after this weekend.

Been working out everyday in Santa Monica with Ryan Nece, Shawne Merriman and Travis Johnson. Darren Willis is our trainer. We don't start our offseason conditioning program until next week so this is my training before the training, I get a month head start so I'll be in good shape when the team starts working out.

I've been training with Darren since I came out of K State. We're in the gym every day from 8-9:30 and then do outdoor training after that. We go on the field Monday and Thursday to run routes and work on our speed and quickness. We're in the pool doing strides and jumps on Tuesdays. That works everything, arms, legs, you name it. On Wednesdays we alternate running the Santa Monica stairs and the sand dunes. The sand dunes really work your hips, ankles and balance. We do treadmill work on Fridays. Everything we do is tough, but nothing compares to the sand dunes. It's by far the hardest thing we do. That's why working out with the other guys is so valuable because when you start getting tired there is always someone there pushing you

Sorry for the long delay. I took some time off before getting back to work, but I'm back in SoCal training and back in the Yard too. I can't tell you how happy I was that LT signed. I was at the Clippers-Cavs game last week and my dad hit me with a text telling me LT signed. I was happy to see that come thru because we need him. It put a big smile on my face.

LT is a leader. He's a hard worker and his work ethic is contagious, it makes all of us work that much harder. Besides that, he's a great guy and a great person. Everybody's happy he's back. We're talking about a future Hall of Famer. he gives our offense more balance. Teams always have to plan for him so that frees up things for the other playmakers on the team. I know he's happy it's done. I spoke to him after the press conference and he said he was glad it was over. I know we are a much better team with him. He gives us a better chance to make a run at the championship. We've come close the last few years and this makes us stronger for another run this year.

This is my first blog, just getting started. Hope you like it.

Just like any player I wish we were still playin. We got hot at the end, but not hot enough. Even though we're not playin in the game I'll still be headin to Tampa for Super Bowl week. I got a few appearances I'll be doing down there. Since the season ended I've really been just resting and hangin out with my family. I haven't done any traveling but probably will start doing some in March. After I go to the Super Bowl I am going to start my offseason workouts. I really try to work on things and parts that I don't really do during the season. I do a lot of core work, a lot of pilates and a lot of abs with my trainer in LA. We'll go for three hours each day, do a little lifting and a lot of running. My focus is to get faster but stay quick. I'll work the hipflexors for speed and a bunch of cone work to keep my quickness. Once I get started I'll try to get some video up so you can see what I'm talking about.
